CONCRETE COUNTERS

These tops come in a wide range of colors from earth tones to blues and greens. Colors also show up in tops that are partially tiled, or surface ground and polished to show the aggregate below.
The concerete used is a rich mixture of cement, silica fume, fly ash, water reducer, sand and gravel. This makes for a very durable surface as well as an incredibly strong concrete. All tops are sealed and final polished with a beeswax paste.
Most of the concrete sections are under five feet in length to aid in placement and transportation. The sections are secured to the cabinet tops with adhesive and are joined together with grout. Larger pieces can be make if desired.
Prices range from $65 to $125 per square foot, with installation. A simpler counter with some embossed images here and there is at the lower end. A counter that is ground down to the aggregate below and polished to a terrazzo finish is at the higher end.
I treat each piece as a work of art, one of a kind, and commissioned by each customer. If you are looking for a concrete counter without some areas of interest or artistic work then these will not be for you.
Feel free to call. If you have a budget, chances are we can come up with something that will work for both of us. You are also welcome to come by the studio and look at a yard full of concrete sculptures as well as floors tiled with concrete tiles both indoors and outdoors. Studio visits are by appointment.
